GWE x IEEE Workshop Luncheon on Publishing
Curious about publishing papers and where/how to start? Come join us for an informative session on publishing with University Partnership Program Senior Manager Jalyn Kelley from IEEE (Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers) on October 2, 11:30-1:00pm! Lunch will be provided!

Key Points to Getting Published: Behind the Scenes with IEEE
Identifying where to publish your research can be a daunting task. Should you write a conference paper, a journal article or both? What is peer review, an ORCID ID, a predatory journal, and other publication jargon? In this session, IEEE Sr. University Partnership Program Manager Jalyn Kelley, will provide insights into publishing with IEEE, including:
  • Tips for selecting an appropriate IEEE journal or conference
  • What do successful IEEE authors do to make their papers stand out
  • Why editors and reviewers reject papers
  • Use of AI in the publishing process
  • How to enhance the visibility and impact of your research
  • Strategies for an effective literature review
  • "I'm stuck!" Where to find tools to help you through the publishing process

Empowering Womxn of Color Conference (EWOCC)
The Empowering Womxn of Color Conference (EWOCC) is seeking volunteers to help plan the 40th Annual EWOCC! Express your interest by October 7th at bit.ly/COMMITTEE2025. EWOCC is a space that intentionally prioritizes the experiences, voices and bodies of womxn of color, and is recognized as one of the longest running conferences in the nation that addresses the needs and concerns of womxn of color.
