GWE leadership opportunities!
Thanks to everyone who came to the general meeting on 2/11 - here's a link to the slides for those who missed it!

There are two main ways to get involved with GWE leadership – first, by running for a board position, second, by joining a committee:

1. Run for a GWE board position
As we discussed at the meeting, nominations for board positions for the 2025-2026 academic year are now open! Board members serve for one academic year with leadership transitioning over the summer. It's a great way to get involved, gain leadership experience, and give back to the community by organizing events/enabling GWE to continue hosting events!

Steps (may need to log in to Berkeley accounts to view forms and documents):

1. Read the descriptions of officer positions
2. Fill out the nomination form for yourself or someone else. Submit the form once for each person you wish to nominate. Self-nominations are encouraged!
3. We will email nominees to let them accept or reject their nominations.
4. Nominees who accept will be listed on this sheet.
The nomination form will close at 11:59 pm on Monday, April 21. Voting will take place afterwards (4/22-5/5).


2. Join a GWE committee
For those interested in getting involved, another option is to join one of our committees as a committee member. Committee members are unelected and can join at any time, and the responsibilities are more flexible than elected board members, while still being a great way to help out and practice leadership! If you are interested, please fill out the committee interest form, which also has info about each committee.

This program provides students with mentorship, hands-on learning experiences, and professional networking opportunities in the field of cybersecurity. Our goal is to support the next generation of cybersecurity leaders by fostering knowledge, collaboration, and research engagement.
