MCC mock qualifying exam event
Hi Cal Grads,
Preparing for Qualifying Exams can be isolating. One of the best ways to prepare and bring calm into the process is practicing with community.
To help doctoral students support each other, the MCC is collaborating with the Graduate Assembly's Graduate Minority Student Project to hold a Mock Qualifying Exam event. We invite doctoral students to come prepare for their exams, and doctoral candidates to come share their experiences with others.
We will be holding the event October 23, 2023 from 4pm to 6pm at the MCC. Dinner will be served!
Students interested in practicing for their qualifying exams, learning more about quals, or simply working on their dissertation are especially encouraged to come. This will be a supportive event where you can present to an open minded audience. If you are tired we will have caffeinated beverages.
RSVP here if you are interested in participating.
We will have spaces set up for quiet writing, project talks, and mock oral exams. Come prepared or come to get prepared.
Please forward this email to your cohort if you are interested in having people from your field participate!
If you have already finished quals or if you are a Master's student curious about the process and want to help a fellow student we would love your support.
The MCC highly encourages the use of masks, and has free N95 masks if you need one. We encourage you to eat on our patio, seating is available and food will be provided throughout the event. Our space is ADA accessible.
