Join organization: Popping the Science Bubble!
We are
Popping the Science Bubble, a team of graduate students that organize a monthly public scientific seminar series held at the Berkeley Public Library. Popping the Science Bubble is an opportunity for scientific discussion between graduate students and postdocs at UC Berkeley and local Berkeley/Oakland residents. We aim to create direct communication between scientists and the broader public in order to demystify commonly misunderstood topics and build connections between Berkeley researchers and the greater local community.
We are recruiting graduate and postdoc presenters for the upcoming academic year! Presenters are encouraged to talk about their own research, but we also host presentations that describe interesting findings and perspectives of a field. Each presenter is asked to prepare 15 minutes of their desired material with two presenters per seminar.
If you would be interested in presenting, please fill out the
Popping the Science Bubble speaker form to give us a general sense of your field of interest and availability. If you have recommendations for speakers or know others who would be interested, please share this email or email poppingthesciencebubble@berkeley.edu and feel free to contact us with any questions.
