Volunteer with GWE at a Meet and Greet for Admitted Female Engineering MS and PhD students

GWE is hosting a virtual meet and greet with newly admitted PhD students in
engineering, and we'd love if you could join! This is a great opportunity to
share our experiences as graduate students at Berkeley and get to know potential
future friends. We will be using the gather.town platform, which will allow for
lots of small-group discussions. To make things even more fun, we will reimburse
each attendee up to $20 for dinner!! :)

GWE x STEM*FYI: The Rollercoaster of Imposter Feelings ๐๐
April 5, 2021 from 12-1pm
Have you doubted your skills and accomplishments, and felt like a fraud
although your qualifications say otherwise? How often has this happened through
your career here in UC-Berkeley and elsewhere? In this workshop, Dr. Yi Du and
Dr. Amy Honigman from CAPS will explain what is the so-called impostor feeling,
what it does to us, how to manage it, and more! This will be followed by a small
group discussion. We would love to see you there to share your experiences and
help each other overcome it.
The hosts will be giving away cute facemasks and 3x $25 gift cards, so everyone
one will get a raffle entry for attending!
GWE will be reimbursing up to $15 to the first 15 people that stay for the
duration of the event. Please save your itemized receipt.

Drink Tasting Social ๐ท๐น

GWE will be hosting a tasting social event!
Come join to enjoy drinks, chat with other GWE members, and share your thoughts
on the selection of drinks. Each participant should fill out the RSVP form below by
Monday April 5th to indicate which three drinks (alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks
available) they'd like and a time to pick them up. We will provide accommodations
for those unable to pick or not currently in Berkeley. Attendees have the chance to

Save the date!! Setting Yourself Up for Financial Success in the Workforce:
From tracking your spending to setting up a retirement account to prioritizing
your income, there's a lot to know about transitioning to a new job from
school! This workshop is everything you need to know to make the transition
from graduate school to the working world. Learn how to review offers,
understand your company's benefits and how to optimize them for you, and set
up all the systems you need to track and manage your finances throughout.
This workshop will be led as a follow up by Sarh Sprague Gerber, Founder of
Momentum Financial Coaching who led our Personal Finance 101 workshop in
November, 2020.
As a special prize, we will be raffling off one month of one-on-one financial
counseling with Sarah for two lucky participants!

GWE x GradPro: Professional Development Interactive Workshop ๐๐

Technology and National Security Fellowship is recruiting applicants for
its second annual cohort, which will occur from August 2021 to August 2022.
NSIN will select fellows with STEM backgrounds or entrepreneurial experience
to be embedded in the offices of key decision-makers on Capitol Hill and the

Prepory Recruitment
Prepory is a premier college admissions counseling organization dedicated
to helping high school students earn acceptance to top colleges and universities
across the country such as UC Berkeley. Prepory is currently recruiting candidates
to join our 2021-2022 college admissions coaching team. After comprehensive,
paid training, responsibilities include conducting college advising sessions,
critiquing rรฉsumรฉs and essays, and checking in on student progress. This is a
remote/virtual part-time position.

Apply to be a WS2 Lab Design Team Member!
WS2 is Women Supporting Women in the Sciences. The goal of the WS2 lab design
teams is to create low cost (<$2.75 per student) physics and materials science
laboratories for primary and secondary school students using topics that are
relevant to women and girls around the world. As a team member, you will be
involved in the creation of two laboratories, one for primary school and one
for secondary school, that are both related to a particular core-curriculum
subject such as the physics behind light or the transfer of heat. From
May-August 2021, your international team will meet twice per month to brainstorm,
discuss progress, create laboratory prototypes, and create teacher-training
resources for educators around the world. See flyer for more information!
