Community Events
Black Queer Town Hall in STEM: Celebrate the intersection of Blackness, Queerness, & Science
January 12-15, 2021
The original
Black Queer Town Hall (BQTH)
was held in June 2020 with the vision
of "cultivating community, sharing knowledge, and uplifting voices in culture." Following in the same vein,
we're introducing the BQTH in STEM, broadcast through YouTube from January 12-15, 2021, with the added goal
of creating a hub for Black Queer youth and scientists to communicate and find community.
We hope that, by increasing visibility of Black Queer scientists, we can increase their recruitment
and retention at all levels, whether they be students with nascent aspirations of a career in STEM or
those already in it.
See attached flyer.
